Just when I thought it was over I get a phone call
by label licker inone of the families in the hall called me last night and let another piece of the puzzle out.
apparently there was another family that we don't even know who had gotton a phone call from these jerk off elders down here questioning them about us and what they knew.
(anything negative).

It's sad really. I mean, you can't have a conversation in the shop or anywhere with a JW without all that negativity. Talk to your friends at work, or the check-out operator at the supermarket, or someone at the pub, at your school, or anywhere: sure, they face the same challenges as JWs and anyone else, but they deal with it and accept it as part of life, not get bogged down on how it's indicative of Satan giving them a hard time.

Good point Adam. They have to be a martyr to something. I also think hearing day in, day out, how 'bad' the world is wires their brains to be pessimistic too.

That's sickening how they beg money off 'the materially poor'. I've been to a place where the brothers are so poor they have to sell their livestock to get to the DC. They live in bamboo huts. I gave their children gifts of chocolate and pencils. The kids looked dully at the chocolate, but lit up at the sight of pencils and school books. These are families with no running water or electricity who subsist or work 12 hour days to buy rice for their children. These are families whose kids can't get more than a year 5 education because that's when the government stops providing free education and there's no money in the family to send the kids to year 6. And heaven forbid someone in the family gets sick: they can't afford medicine or health care. I've met these people and my heart yearned to buy them a chicken because at least it can give them eggs and possibly more chickens to sell.
Yet they're being asked to sell that chicken and give the money to the WTS. It's sickening how the WTS will take the last grain of rice from these people's mouths.

Me too! It used to bug me that it was always, "sickness, sickness, sickness..." when the sisters got together, or gossip about some bad thing, and at the meetings it was about how hard it is to keep going in 'this system'.
I was being treated for major depression one time, and I remember I had to actually get up and leave during a public talk because it was just negative, negative, negative, about all the bad things in the world like crime, war and disease and that. And also while under treatment, thinking, "These people see the bad in everything, but I'm not going to be like that anymore." and started trying to see good rather than bad. I tell you, having depression and being a JW is hell.

by Mr Fool inif a jw asks me "-do you believe in god?
" and i answer "-no, i dont believe in god" he/she assumes that i m not interested.
